~ I’ve wandered
into wonderment
to make a home
out of the unknown
I’ve let go of
my need to read maps
and now feel peace
deep in my bones
~ I can now hear
God calling me
from a pay phone
inside my old heart
I can smell the morning dew
in my eyes
as my life has been
given a brand new start
~ I’m looking at everything
with the eyes of a child
these days even a single blade
of grass holds my gaze
I’ve fed my calendar
to the wind
now each minute can
last for several days
~ I was told once that the
devil’s in the details
but, my love, I’ve recently
learned that is most untrue
because I’ve found the divine
in every pore of your skin
and the way each ray of sunlight
effortlessly reflects off of you
~ I don’t know where
I’m going
I’m a satellite lost
in time and space
I left the orbit of
earthly certainty
to chase a comet
of sacred grace
~ I’m not afraid of what
I haven’t discovered yet
and if I turn up missing
please know where I’ll be
I will have headed inward
to explore myself
in the anointed wilds
that exist inside of me
~ I’ve wandered
into wonderment
and let my best laid
plans become history
I’m waltzing straight
into a strange holy fog
to embrace the
adventure of the mystery
