It is time for new beginnings.
Any time is for new beginnings, but somehow, the concept looms large in our hearts and minds on New Year’s.
How did you celebrate New Year’s Eve? We spend too much, drink too much – and maybe pretend too much. Pretend that we can actually put an entire year behind us as if the new year will be rid of the difficulties that we faced. You know the ones we face on any day of any year. Or that resolutions will result in the real changes we want.
I’ve done a lot of soul digging recently. This has not been an easy year and quite frankly, I’ve never been more ready for new beginnings. I was faced with huge decisions, heartbreak and confusion, however, I’ve never had as clear a vision of where I am going.
I believe that is because I see that my past is as part of my future as any changes or new endeavors I’ve chosen to make. That understanding propelled me to take risks and steps out of my comfort zone, which has created an excitement I haven’t felt in a very long time, all while in the midst of unavoidable situations that were and are sucking my life energy, which usually keeps us stuck rather than moving into the future, new beginnings.
It is moving on with and past the past into new beginnings that has given me the confidence to LIVE NOW! Live in the place where dreams will bloom from the ground well fertilized with all the heartbreak, difficulties and joys of the past.
I can see that it is everything my life has been that makes myself and my future what it is and is to come.
My weathered heart
Broken but mended with gold
Exercised with pain
Grown stronger and larger
Serenaded by Courage
Able to carry on its wings
Wild dreams
Wisdom and joy
To share with all
The time is now! My past and future have collided!
Drum roll please!!!

I love how encouraging this post is Ruthie! Just what we need to begin the new year and LIVE now 🙂
I’m so glad to know to know that it was encouraging! I just feel that people really need to understand that living fully doesn’t necessarily mean that we won’t encounter difficulty. It is actually a part of living fully! Thanks for commenting!! xoxo
I prefer spending New Year’s Eve with family and friends in the comfort of our home. It sets the right tone for the coming year.
Absolutely, Vatsala! Happy New Year! Thank you for commenting!! xoxox
