WE HAVE NOTHING TO FEAR BUT FEAR ITSELF

Those were the words of President Roosevelt in a time of crises, yes, multiple.  Most people alive today know little to nothing about that time in history, but because those times have many similarities to our current crises, yes, multiple, it serves us so well to remember this mindset he led the country to adopt.

Besides the losses and unprecedented mandates that have so harshly inflicted our lives, I can honestly say that the thing that saddens me most, and quite frankly the most debilitating long term, is the fear that has seized our minds bodies and souls.

Roosevelt’s intention was no doubt a warning of exactly that when he led citizens to understand that fear itself is the enemy.  I’ve been reading and researching a lot to uncover and gain some truth and to understand what’s really happening to us.

For many years now, I’ve been researching health issues and the relation of how food and state of mind couple to affect our bodies.  Most are aware to some degree of the negative effects stress can have on our bodies – but it is fear that ignites our fight or flight response to top levels.

Unlike the times of Roosevelt, this generation lives with levels of stress and fear and isolation like never before, long before the crazy situation we’re in, and we were never meant to live that way.

As much as I have studied and learned, I am far from an expert on health, physically or mentally, however, I am clearly aware of the vast pain, fear, misery, and illness that has nothing to do with Covid.

So much of what’s being done in the name of “staying safe” is actually fear blindly leading us to take everything we hear as gospel without question, like a rounded up herd of cattle for slaughter.

Fear itself has forced the elderly to spend their last years, even worse, their last days without any contact with their loved ones, and worse again, the physical touch and affection that science has proven is so crucial to the elderly.

Fear itself has caused small business owners to comply and lose everything they have worked all their lives for.

Fear itself has forced children to stay at home, many times with insufficient supervision.  Kids have witnessed and been taught fear that will haunt them the rest of their lives.  This entire generation of kids has lost precious development, sense of well-being and education.  The ramifications long term will be more consequential than any one of us could possibly know.

Fear itself has wrecked economic devastation on families , our nation and the world.

Fear itself has wrecked havoc on our health.  Even without correct and honest statistics, undeniable evidence shows a sharp rise in alcoholism, child abuse, domestic violence and suicide. The numbers of health issues have skyrocketed, resulting in rapidly increasing numbers of those facing heart, gut, arthritic and bodily pain issues simply because of unrelenting fear, stress and anxiety, and also the fear of going to the doctor or hospital,

If you read my last blog, These Are The Days, it was quite a different perspective and may even seem to be in contradiction.  Quite the contrary!

I always, always point people toward the light no matter how dark it is.  And that is my intention here.  Fear keeps you in darkness.  I want to make clear and bring light to the truth that if you don’t understand how dark fear is, then you will blindly walk right with it.

In the midst of so much confusion and chaos, we can walk toward the light and stand confidently in the face of fear itself.

Fearing Nothing,
